Dehydration of fruits and vegetables is one of the factors that accelerates their ripening. In a home, we observe on average a humidity level of 40% to 60%. However, many fruits and vegetables must be maintained in an environment approximating a humidity level of 70% to 80%.
To better meet their need for moisture and to provide a suitable environment it is necessary to water them daily. The Denise Water a natural food purifier has been designed for this purpose. Composed of a ceramic bowl with wooden slats, it allows your fruits and vegetables to keep their perfection level of hydration.

Fruits are sensitive to heat. To speed ripening, you can punctually place your Denise in a sunny place. If you want to extend their life, it is best to place it away from a window.
We recommend watering fruits and vegetables that are deposited on the wooden slats regularly, but without leaving water lying in the ceramic bowl over a week. Ideally, change the water every five days. Change the water more regularly during summer month or if your Denise Water is in a warm environment.
Make sure that the fruits are watered evenly. For optimal preservation, we suggest that you spray them daily with fresh water.
If one of the fruits or vegetables starts to rot, remove it from the Denise to avoid contamination with the other. If the wood lath is stained, clean it with a damp cloth. Most fruits and vegetables release a gas called ethylene. This gas is responsible for their maturation, and some fruits and vegetables will emit more ethylene than others. Bananas and apples, for example, will significantly produce more gas so we recommend that you keep them separated from other fruits and vegetables in order to avoid their accelerated ripening.
Some fruits and vegetables need to be hydrated daily.
